Berta Passola Folch reached the doubles and singles quarterfinals at ITA regionals.
BERKELEY – The California women’s tennis duo of Makenna Thiel and Berta Passola Folch – the last two Golden Bears competing in the ITA Northwest Regional Championships – lost to the top-seeded and 17th-ranked Reece Carter and Alexia Jacobs 8-2 in Monday morning’s doubles quarterfinals at the Hellman Tennis Complex.
The Huskies advanced to the afternoon semifinals.
The setback ended a promising tournament for Passola Folch, a junior who also reached the quarterfinals of the singles main draw.
The ITA regional tournament ends Tuesday with the main draw singles and doubles finals at Hellman.
