SOUTH BEND, Ind. – On the opening day of the Notre Dame Invitational, the Wisconsin women’s tennis team battled a tough lineup from Kentucky. Mia Larrain and Anisha Apte started the day with a 6-2 doubles win over UK’s Hammond and Mills.
In singles action, Charmaine Seah and Ariel Johnson each took the first set off their opponent, but were unable to sustain the momentum. Antonela Stoica was also able to win one set, but ultimately fell 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-1.
Play continues on Saturday when the Badgers take on host Notre Dame. UW will wrap up the tournament on Sunday vs. Columbia.
