Badgers Dominate Doubles at Day One of B1Gs.


MADISON, Wisc – All eight badgers had a successful day in doubles on day one of the B1G Individual Championships. 

Today featured only doubles matches, with all four pairings competing intensely. In the Round of 32, Matthew Fullerton and Patrik Meszaros fought through a major win over Purdue’s Ali-Khan/Villanger, 6-3. Edouard Aubert and Sachiv Kumar swam through their match against Northwestern’s Bengtsson/Coriaty, 6-1. 

In the Round of 16, Matthew Fullerton and Patrik Meszaros notably defeated their Northwestern opponents, 6-4. Similarly, Oliver Olsson and Tomas Zlatohlavek secured a victory with a score of 6-3. Michael Minasyan and Collin Beduhn secured a successful 6-3 win over their Michigan opponents after a fiercely contested match. Sachiv Kumar and Edouard Aubert unfortunately fell to their Purdue opponents, 6-4, and will be competing in consolation matches tomorrow. 

Day two of competition begins tomorrow at 9 a.m. starting with doubles quarterfinals and singles round of 64 to follow.
