PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Despite a strong showing in doubles, the Rutgers women’s tennis team (9-11, 0-9 B1G) fell to No. 9 Ohio State (17-6, 9-1 B1G) on Saturday afternoon.
Doubles
Rutgers put up a strong fight in doubles but it was ultimately Ohio State that came away with the point.
However on the first court, the pair of Tara Chilton/Amira Badawi defeated the 28th-ranked pair from the Buckeyes in a dominating 6-1 decision. The victory marks the pairs’ first victory on the top court and first over a nationally ranked duo.

OSU recorded wins on the final two courts to secure the 1-0 advantage.
Singles
The Buckeyes kept up the momentum to clinch the match with solid singles play and victories on court No. 1, 4 and 5.
Chilton and Chloe Brown each took a set on courts No. 2 and 6, respectively, before play was suspended.
