More on this week’s rankings movers and shakers below the jump…

Mensik (+29) Makes Top 100 Debut

Playing in just his third ATP level event, Jakub Mensik made a big splash in Doha, reeling off wins over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Andy Murray, Andrey Rublev and Gael Monfils before losing in the final to Karen Khachanov.

The youngest finalist in Doha tournament history, Mensik became the youngest ATP player to defeat a Top 5 talent since Carlos Alcaraz in 2021, when he took out Rublev.

He jumps from 116 to 87 in today’s ATP rankings.

Navone (+53) Biggest Riser

Argentinian Qualifier Mariano Navone entered last week’s Rio Open with no ATP victories to his name. He leaves with four wins, his maiden ATP final, and a career-high ranking of 60. Navone, 22, jumps from 113 to his fresh Top 100 debut.

Thompson and Baez Career Highs

It was an incredible week for Jordan Thompson, who secured singles and doubles titles in Los Cabos – the Aussie rises to a career-high 32 in the rankings, up eight spots. He had never won title in singles or doubles prior to last week. Sebastian Baez claims his fifth career title – and biggest – at Rio, rising nine spots to a career-high of No.1. He is one shy of Francisco Cerundolo for the honor of top Argentinian in the ATP rankings.

Djokovic Hits 414

Novak Djokovic extends his record number of weeks at No.1 to 414 – that means he has exactly two years’ worth of weeks at No.1 more than Roger Federer (310). Just another indication that the 24-time major champion is the true No.1.
