DURHAM – On Saturday at the Duke men’s basketball game, Blue Devil head coach Jamie Ashworth was honored during a timeout for reaching 600 wins recently. Duke Vice President and Director of Athletics Nina King presented Ashworth with a silver tray commemorating the impressive achievement.
On January 20, Ashworth became the seventh NCAA Division I head coach to reach 600 wins in a victory against Illinois. He reached the 600-win mark in impressive fashion as he became the quickest to reach the milestone in only 747 matches.
Over his 28-year career at Duke, Ashworth has helped Duke reach new heights as he guided the Blue Devils to the 2009 NCAA Championship, 11 NCAA Final Four appearances, 18 20-win seasons, 24 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, nine ACC Championships and 12 ACC Regular Season titles.
Duke will next travel to Coral Gables, Fla., Feb. 23 to open ACC action against Miami at 12 p.m.
