TUCSON, Ariz. – Women’s Tennis will return to San Diego for the fourth time this fall for the ITA Southwest Regionals from Oct. 20-24. They are sending eight Wildcats to represent Arizona in the tournament: Kayla Wilkins, Salma Ziouti, Belen Nevenhoven, Midori Castillo, Parker Fry, Reece Carter, Lauren Friedman and Tanvi Narendran.
Everyone will participate in singles and doubles competitions. This marks the first appearance at the tournament for freshmen trio Carter, Friedman and Narendran, the second for Castillo, Fry, Nevenhoven and Ziouti, and the third appearance for Wilkins who participated in 2019 and 2021.
Doubles will commence on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 9 a.m. with three Arizona pairs competing while Carter and Wilkins received a bye until the round of 32 on Friday, Oct. 21. Seven Cats will compete in the singles round of 128 and Ziouti will begin singles play in the round of 64 on Friday after receiving a bye. Carter, Castillo and Ziouti are all seeded at No. 17.
