Antonaki Named 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-District

STARKVILLE – Success on the tennis courts, as well as in the classroom, has been a staple for Emmanouela Atonaki’s Mississippi State women’s tennis career.

The senior added to her resume by being named CoSIDA Academic All-District this week, with an astounding 3.85 cumulative GPA during her four seasons with the Bulldogs. She is one of two tennis players to make first team in District 6. Antonaki will be on the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America consideration next month.

The Athens, Greece native is a two-time Academic All-SEC selection, while also being a two-time ITA Scholar Athlete.  She graduated last week with her undergraduate in business.

On the court, Antonaki has qualified for the 2022 NCAA Singles Championships in Urbana, Illinois next week. She is just the second player in MSU women’s tennis history to reach the NCAA Singles Championship three times, joining Jasmine Lee (2015-17).

This season, the senior garnered a second team All-SEC selection after posting 22 singles victories, which tied for the team lead in singles victories. Antonaki is currently ranked 62nd nationally and has earned seven wins over ranked opponents. She finished out the season by securing five consecutive SEC matches.

Antonaki earned All-American status at the NCAA Singles Championship in Orlando, Florida last year by advancing to the Round of 16. She was just the second women’s player in school history to reach the Round of 16 at the event and one of five players to be named an All-American.
