Former world No. 8 Molik, a mom of two kids, turned and raced to help the girl. Molik turned the junior on her side clearing her airway to ensure she could breathe until paramedics arrived to administer aid.

Australian network Channel 7 captured the scary incident on video and later reported the girl, identified as a junior named Jasmine, is recovering at an Adelaide-area hospital and is reportedly going to be fine.

Former Olympic bronze-medalist Molik, who made her farewell as Australia’s Billie Jean King Cup captain earlier this month, showed quick reactions, compassion and caring her rapid response to the fallen player. All those attributes should serve her well in her new position as Adelaide tournament director.

“Tennis is part of my everyday DNA and to have the opportunity to be a part of a world-class tennis event in the city where I grew up is really something special,” Molik said in a statement. “This is a chance for me to give back to the community that supported me throughout my on-court career and still to this day.”

On her first day of her new job, Molik showed she’s a capable crisis manager delivering immediate support.
