Alabama’s Ola Pitak Leads Women’s Tennis by Winning Tusca Bama Cup Tournament


TUSCALOOSA, Ala.– Alabama women’s tennis player Ola Pitak secured a win in the final round of the Tusca Bama Cup Tournament on Monday. With the victory, the graduate student earned the title of the three-day event that was held at the Alabama Tennis Stadium.

 Finals

  • Pitak squared off against teammate Loudmilla Bencheikh in Monday’s championships match
  • The Krakow, Poland, native won by matching scores of 6-4,6-4
  • Anna Parkhomenko also went up against her teammate Klara Milicevic in the match for third place
  • Parkhomenko won in the first set 6-3, before falling 4-6 in the second set
  • The UA junior answered back by winning the final set 6-2, resulting in Parkhomenko winning third place

  • Alabama will open the 2023 spring campaign on January 15 in a double header against Navy and Mercer at 10 a.m. CT and 3 p.m. CT
