Alabama Women's Tennis Wraps Up 2022 Roberta Alison Fall Classic


TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women’s tennis team picked up two championship wins on the final day of the Roberta Alison Fall Classic at the Alabama Tennis Stadium.

Ola Pitak was awarded champion of her singles draw as well as doubles with her sister Kasia as partner. Additionally, Petra Sedlackova and Loudmilla Bencheikh met in the final of the Dominique Glinzler Draw.

Titia Wilmink/Marouschka van Dijk Doubles Draw

  • Petra Sedlackova and Anna Parkhomenko fell to Luminita Tutunaru and Tereza Dejnozkova (South Alabama) in the semifinals round, 6-1
  • The duo finished in third place after beating Fernanda Carvajal and Daniela Rivera (East Tennessee State), 7-5

Alexa Guarachi/Mary Anne Macfarlane Doubles Draw

  • Ola Pitak and Kasia Pitak defeated Kristina Kukaras and Hagar Ramadan (Troy), 7-6(5) in the semifinals round
  • The Pitak sisters were crowned the champions after capturing a win over Lauren Lemonds and Mila Mejic (Indiana) 6-3

Dominique Glinzler Singles Draw

  • Petra Sedlackova and Loudmilla Bencheikh both advanced to the championship round, but were rescheduled for different matchups
  • Sedlackova and Bencheikh won their respective matches in straight sets
  • Sedlackova defeated Adelaide Lavery (Tulane) 6-4, 6-1
  • Bencheikh beat Lahari Yelamanchili (Tulane), 6-1, 6-2

  • Ola Pitak defeated Ayshe Can (Michigan State), 6-3, 6-1 in the championship round 

Patti Farmer Singles Draw

  • Klara Milicevic beat Adela Wasserbauerova (South Alabama) 6-2, 6-1 in the consolation finals

Beth Cleino Singles Draw

  • Anna Parkhomenko battled for a third-place win over Mariya Shumeika (ETSU) 5-7,6-3,13-11

Jean Mills Singles Draw

  • In the third round Valeria Avdeeva (Troy) def. Sydney Orefice (UA) 6-3, 6-3
