Alabama Women’s Tennis Defeats Tulane


TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women’s tennis team (5-2) defeated Tulane (3-4), 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. The victory secured the Crimson Tide its fifth win of the season.

Alabama clinched the doubles point after securing two 6-1 victories on courts three (Ola Pitak and Kasia Pitak) and two (Anne Marie Hiser and Loudmilla Bencheikh), respectively. The Tide grabbed two-straight singles victories before Tulane’s Adelaide Lavery secured the Green Wave its first point of the day. Alabama would add two more wins to its total before Tulane ended the match with a victory on court four.

The Match

  • Alabama clinched the doubles point via a pair of 6-1 victories on courts three and two, respectively
  • The Pitak sisters defeated Tulane’s Kristen Borland and Cora Barber on court three before Anne Marie Hiser and Loudmilla Bencheikh secured the doubles victory on court two
  • Petra Sedlackova and Anna Parkhomenko were leading, 5-4, on court one when doubles point was won
  • Hiser captured Alabama’s first singles point of the afternoon, winning 6-1, 6-1 on court six
  • Klara Milicevic pushed the Crimson Tide out to a 3-0 lead as she rolled to a 6-3, 6-4 victory on court five
  • Tulane’s Adelaide Lavery secured the Green Wave its first point of the day, beating Petra Sedlackova on court two (7-5, 6-4)
  • Loudmilla Bencheikh tallied the match-clinching point on court one in a 7-5, 7-6 (6) battle, giving Bama a 4-1 score
  • On court three, Ola Pitak outlasted Tulane’s Kristen Borland (6-1, 2-6, 6-3) to make it 5-1 Bama advantage
