Baton Rouge, La. –– Alabama women’s tennis closed out day three of the ITA Southern Regional Championships with major advancements in both the singles and doubles main draw. The Crimson Tide’s Petra Sedlackova and Margaux Maquet both advanced to the quarterfinals in the singles main draw after winning back-to-back matches, while also having advanced to the round of 16 in the doubles main draw as a doubles duo.
Alabama started the morning off strong after Anna Parkhomenko, Sedlackova and Maquet all secured their singles matches, and Klara Milicevic won her singles consolation match. Sedlackova defeated Rachel Krzyzak of Ole Miss (6-2, 6-0) to advance to the quarterfinals, while Maquet also advanced after winning in two sets against Reka Zadori of Ole Miss (6-3, 6-1).
The Crimson Tide pairing, Sedlackova and Maquet, defeated Southern Mississippi’s Zenn Lim and Suhana Das, 8-6, to move to the round of 16 in the doubles main draw.
