TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– The Alabama men’s tennis team was selected for the ITA Kickoff Weekend as the Crimson Tide was drafted to the Kentucky Regional, the organization announced on Thursday. UA will open the tournament, scheduled for Jan. 26-29, against Nebraska, while Kentucky and Notre Dame round out the regional site competition.
Alabama will compete as the No. 2 seed in Kentucky. The regional site winner will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships Feb. 16-19 in New York City.
“I’m excited for our team to return to the ITA Kickoff and compete in a location that we will also visit in March of 2024. It’s a strong field that will require us to be disciplined, daring and determined. The preparation for this weekend, and the year ahead, all began last April on the day after we concluded our season at the SEC Championships. The guys have a full slate of competition this summer and we will practice executing with resistance in the fall leading up to a new campaign that begins in January.”
