TULSA, Okla. – Alabama men’s tennis players Filip Planinsek and German Samofalov concluded action at the ITA All-American Championships on Friday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.
The Tide In Singles
- Planinsek’s final match in the tournament was against the second-highest ranked newcomer in the country, Nishesh Basavareddy of Stanford
- Planinsek battled in the first set, falling in a tiebreaker against Basavareddy, 7-6 (5), before taking a 6-2 loss in the final set
The Tide In Doubles
- The No. 33 doubles team of Samofalov and Planinsek fell to No. 15 Ryan Fishback and Jorda Chrysostom of Virginia Tech in the Consolation Quarterfinals round
- The duo lost the first set 6-3, but came back strong in the second
- Planinsek and Samofalov fell in the tie break 7-5 (7)
