TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– The Alabama women’s tennis team was drafted to the NC State Regional in the ITA Kickoff Weekend Tournament, the organization announced. The Crimson Tide will make its first appearance in the tournament since 2017.
The No. 4 seed at the NC State Regional site, Alabama will open the tournament against host and No. 1 seed NC State. The winner between the Crimson Tide and the Wolfpack will play the winner between No. 2 Iowa and No. 3 Clemson.
The regional site winner will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships Feb. 16-19 in New York City.
ITA Kickoff Weekend
- The Crimson Tide will make its first appearance in the tournament since 2017 after being selected for the NC State regional
- UA will compete as the No. 4 seed at the regional site
- No. 1 seeded NC State, No. 2 seeded Iowa and No. 3 seeded Clemson round out the regional competition
- The winner between the Tide and Wolfpack will face the winner between the Hawkeyes and Tigers
- Alabama won its regional site in 2016, defeating Penn and Texas in Tuscaloosa, earning a berth to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships
