GREENSBORO, N.C. – After a perfect 4-0 record this past weekend, Sebastian Dominko was named Atlantic Coast Conference’s Men’s Player of the Week and, along with partner Connor Fu, was named ACC Men’s Doubles Co-Team of the Week. This is the second time this season they have garnered this honor and the second Player of the Week honor for Dominko in singles as well.
The doubles tandem took a pair of wins at the top position, starting with a win against the #13 ranked Virginia Tech team of Ryan Fishback and Jordan Chrysostom, 6-3. They then followed up with a win over William Woodall and Chris Rodesch of Virginia to capture their 12th dual match doubles victory of the season and secure ACC weekly honors. The Irish pair share the award this week with Fabian Salle and Natan Rodrigues of Louisville who beat the same two doubles teams from VT and UVA.
Dominko would not drop a set in singles either this weekend, taking out his opponents in straight sets both times. On Friday, he bested #70 ranked Fishback 6-4, 7-5 before knocking off the #25 ranked Rodesch of Virginia on Sunday. The freshman has won his last three singles matches against ranked opponents and has two of those against top-25 competition.
