Four Buffs Named ITA Scholar-Athletes

TEMPE — The University of Colorado women’s tennis team was named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Women’s All-Academic Team along with four individuals.

The women’s team was one of 250 teams across Division I to earn the honor with a team GPA greater than 3.2 in 2021-2022. In addition, Ky Ecton, Mila Stanojevic, Megan Forster and Caroline Pozo were all named ITA Scholar-Athletes with and GPA greater than 3.5 in the academic year.

All four women were a crucial part of the 2022 spring season that saw CU defeating three ranked opponents for the first time since 2015. Pozo, Forster and Ecton all closed out their careers with the Buffs at home defeating No.49-ranked Arizona 6-1 on senior day.

Stanojevic, the lone underclassmen on the academic team, strung together a winning streak of more than a dozen straight matches this season and led the team with 11 singles wins in duals.

The Buffs finished the season with an 8-13 record including going 5-6 at home.
