DURHAM – Redshirt senior Garrett Johns and sophomore Pedro Rodenas were tabbed 2024 ITA men’s tennis doubles All-Americans, the organization announced.
The honor is awarded to doubles teams that earn a top-eight seed in the NCAA Individual Championship, reach the NCAA Individual Championship quarterfinals or finish in the top 10 in the final ITA National Doubles Rankings.
Johns and Rodenas become the first Blue Devils to receive the honor since Henrique Cunha and Raphael Hemmeler in 2013.
The First Team All-ACC selections led the program in overall doubles wins with a 22-5 mark this past season. The duo played on Duke’s top two courts and held a winning record on both, including a 17-4 ledger on court one. They finished ACC play with a 9-1 mark and went an impressive 16-4 against nationally-ranked opponents, including victories over the No. 1, No. 7, No. 8 and No. 9 ranked duos. Additionally, the pair strung together a 12-match winning streak, all over ranked foes, during the season and advanced to the NCAA Doubles Championships quarterfinals.
The twosome concluded their collegiate time together with a 45-12 career record and a 20-6 mark against nationally-ranked opponents.
