ORLANDO, Fla. – The Wisconsin women’s tennis team took down the University of Central Florida Knights, 4-2, on Sunday, Feb. 18, at the USTA National Campus.
The doubles pairing of Ellison Reynoldson and Xinyu Cai dominated their match, winning 6-3 in 30 minutes. Despite Maria Sholokhova and Alina Mukhortova falling to their opponents, Rosie Garcia Gross and Taylor Cataldi fought back hard to win their match, 7-5, clinching the double point for the team.
In singles, Xinyu Cai and Ariel Johnson had dominant performances, each defeating their opponents with 6-0 and 6-4 sets. After a lengthy 7-5 set, Maria Sholokhova followed up with a strong second set to seal the win for the Badgers.
