DURHAM – No. 17 Duke men’s tennis is back on the road this weekend when it travels to No. 59 Miami and No. 13 Florida State on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
The Blue Devils battle the Hurricanes at 3 p.m. on Friday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center, before facing off against the Seminoles on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center.
Two Duke singles players and two doubles pairs were ranked by the ITA in its most recent listing. In singles play, redshirt senior Garrett Johns and sophomore Pedro Rodenas placed No. 47 and No. 66, respectively. In doubles action, graduate students Michael Heller and Andrew Zhang rank No. 21, while Johns and Rodenas team up as the No. 29th ranked pairing.

HISTORY WITH NO. 59 MIAMI
Friday’s contest will be the 52nd all-time meeting between the two programs with the Blue Devils holding the slim 27-24 edge on the series. Duke has won the last three matches, including a 6-1 home victory just a season ago. The last Miami win came on March 22, 2019, when the Hurricanes defeated the Blue Devils 4-3 in Durham.
SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
Miami currently holds a 9-5 overall record, including a 1-2 mark in ACC play. The Hurricanes have been stout at home this season, posting a 7-1 ledger at Schiff Tennis Center. The doubles pairing of senior Adrien Burdet and graduate student Vladislav Melnic are listed in the most recent ITA rankings, coming in at No. 46.
HISTORY WITH NO. 13 FLORIDA STATE
The Blue Devils and Seminoles have faced off 49 previous times with Duke leading the all-time series at 33-16. Duke is currently riding a three-match winning streak over Florida State, including a 4-3 victory in Durham last season. Prior to that, the Seminoles had posted four consecutive wins over the Blue Devils.
