WOMEN’S TENNIS CENTRAL - No. 20 Tennessee at No. 43 Arkansas, Missouri


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 20 Tennessee women’s tennis team will kick off its SEC slate by traveling to Arkansas and Missouri for a pair of matches. The Lady Volunteers will take on No. 43 Arkansas on Friday at 5 p.m. ET., at Billingsley Tennis Center, before facing Missouri at 10 a.m. ET, at Mizzou Tennis Complex.

Last time out, Tennessee (8-2) concluded its non-conference schedule with victories at both UCF and Florida State. The squad recorded a 4-0 shutout victory over UCF at the UTSA National Campus, before Lauren Anzalotta clinched a tight 4-3 match against Florida State. 

Including the 4-0 win over the Knights, Tennessee has registered five shutout victories during its 10 matches so far this season. The Lady Volunteers have also notched eight doubles points thus far in the season, only dropping the opening point twice.

Tennessee secured five straight triumphs to start the season, defeating Furman, Chattanooga, Wake Forest, Bellarmine and No. 25 Vanderbilt. It marked the first time since 2018 the team opened a season with a 5-0 start, including the third time in the Alison Ojeda era.

On Feb. 21, the conference announced that senior Anzalotta landed SEC Player of the Week after recording an undefeated showing against UCF and Florida State, logging four exceptional victories. Tennessee has now snagged two SEC weekly awards, with Sofia Cabezas previously earning the distinction on Feb. 7.

Scouting the Razorbacks:

The Lady Vols will match up against Arkansas for the 36th time in program history. Tennessee leads the series, 28-8, with 14 of those wins in Knoxville. The last time the two squads met was last season in Knoxville, when the Lady Vols defeated the Razorbacks, 6-1, on March 5, 2023.

Scouting the Tigers: 

Tennessee leads the series against Missouri, 8-2. The Lady Vols have etched a win in their last six meetings against the Tigers. The last time the two teams met was last season in Knoxville when the Vols swept Missouri, 4-0, on March 3, 2023.
