Men’s Tennis Drops Match to Old Dominion

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men’s tennis team fell to Old Dominion on Sunday. The squad dropped a 4-0 deciison against the Monarchs.

DOUBLES 

At the No. 1 spot, Stefan Simeunovic and Miko Eala paired together, but fell 6-2 against Codie van Schalkwyk and Connor Schalkwyk. Nolan Ranger and Ari Cotoulas played at No. 2, but dropped to Cosme Rolland De Ravel and Jakob Cadonau, 6-2. 

On court No. 3, Alex Sterin and Jack Martuccio were down 4-2 in their match against Aryan Slaeh and Maxime Mareschal-Hay, but went unfinished, as Old Dominion had claimed the doubles point before the conclusion of the match. 

SINGLES 

Simeunovic played at No.1, but fell to his opponent, Connor van Schalkwyk, 6-2, 6-2. Ranger battled at No. 3 singles, but dropped 6-2, 6-3 to Codie van Schalkwyk. On court No.4, Cotoulas brought the second set to a tiebreak, but ultimately fell 6-3, 7-6(3) to Cadonau. 

At No. 2, Martuccio played strong and was coming back in his second set against Codie van Schalkwyk with a score of 5-7, 2-1. Sterin was up 2-1 against Saleh on court No. 5. Both matches and the No. 6 matchup between Ritvik Nadikude and Mareschal-Hay went unfinished.
