Women's Tennis Falls To Yale


UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women’s tennis team dropped its match, 4-3, to Yale on Sunday. The Nittany Lions earned wins in top of the top three singles matches.

DOUBLES 

At the No. 1 spot, Karly Friedland and Olivia Dorner took on Shyla Aggarwal and Erin Ha, defeating the Yale duo, 6-4. 

Yvonne Zuffova and Sofiya Chekhlystova played on Court No. 2, coming back from a deficit to defeat Orly Ogilvy and Ann Wright Guerry, 6-3. 

Playing in at No.3, Jordina Cegarra and Alina Lebedeva were leading Mirabelle Brettkelly and Jamie Kim, 5-2. The match went unfinished after Penn State clinched the doubles point.

SINGLES 

On Court No. 2, Dorner played a strong match, defeating Aggarwal, 6-2, 6-2. 

At No. 3, Zuffova claimed a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Brettkelly. 

Chekhylstova took her match into a third set at the No. 1 spot, but ultimately dropped her match, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6(5), to Ogilvy. Friedland played at No.5, but fell 6-1, 6-2 to Wright Guerry. At No.6, Lebedeva put up a strong battle against Rebecca Lynn, taking the match to a third set, but fell, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.
