ITA’s 20th-ranked Gators look to keep rolling against the Wake Forest and either Illinois or North Carolina in the Chapel Hill regional.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gators Men’s Tennis looks to continue their hot start as they make the trek to Chapel Hill for The North Carolina Regional of ITA’s Kick-Off Weekend.

Despite many collegiate programs already beginning dual match play, including the Gators, the ITA Kick-Off Weekend event serves as the beginning of the dual match season for college tennis. 120 teams (60 Men’s, 60 Women’s) across 30 host sites will compete for spots in the 2024 ITA National Indoor Team Championships.

The Gators will first face Wake Forest’s Demon Deacons at 9:30 AM on Saturday. The winner of the match will compete for one of the coveted bids against the winner of the Illinois/North Carolina contest in a match on Sunday. The teams that take losses on Saturday will also compete on Sunday in a consolation match.

The Gators hold a 15-6 advantage in the all-time series record against Wake Forest. The Orange and Blue last met Wake Forest in the 2020 edition of the ITA Indoor Team Championships, with UF clinching a victory by a score of 4-1.

The Chapel Hill Regional marks the Gators’ return to UNC’s Chewning Tennis Center, where in Florida’s last visit, the Gators were eliminated from the 2018 NCAA Tournament.

The match against Wake Forest will begin at 9:30 AM, and can be streamed at this link via University of North Carolina Athletics.
