Tennis Announces 2024 Spring Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Rutgers women’s tennis head coach, Hilary Ritchie, announced the 2024 spring slate Thursday afternoon. The team will play a total of 22 matches during the upcoming campaign, 10 at home and 12 on the road.

“I am looking forward to our spring competition season,” said Ritchie. “We will kick off the season against a strong Princeton team. This year, Michigan and Michigan State are back on our schedule after two seasons of no-play rotations. This schedule provides us several opportunities to test ourselves against top national teams. I am optimistic that our large senior class is going to lead this team through a great season.”

All home indoor matches will be played at the East Brunswick Racquet Club in East Brunswick, N.J. Once the weather permits, the Scarlet Knights will move outdoors for their first-ever matches at the new courts on the Livingston Campus in Piscataway, N.J.

RU will then have a week to prepare for NJIT on January 27 (12 p.m.) in Newark, N.J.

Rutgers will then hit the road to face another in-state opponent, this time the Seton Hall Pirates on February 10 (5:45 p.m.). Following the match up, RU will have a week off before heading north to face Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y. on February 17 (12 p.m.) and UConn in Storrs, Conn. on February 18 (10:30 a.m.).

After the road trip, the Scarlet Knights will enter their longest homestand of the season. RU will face St. John’s on February 23, before opening Big Ten play on March 1 against Purdue. Both matches will have a noon start time. To close out the stretch, Rutgers will host Army on March 3 (2 p.m.).
