WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Blue Devils collected two doubles and four singles wins during day two of the Wake Forest Invite at the Wake Forest Tennis Center on Saturday.
The sophomore-freshman duo of Teddy Truwit and Alexander Visser earned their second win of the tournament after they defeated Davids Spaks and Paulo Guillermo Ramos Martin of Tennessee Tech 6-4. Connor Krug and Faris Khan then registered their first victory at the event when they bested Yanis Moundir and Maxime Mareschal-Hay of Old Dominion, 7-6 (5).
Junior Jake Krug finished 2-0 in singles action on Saturday following wins over Aaron Williams of Georgia Southern and Ivan Dreycopp of Charlotte in the A2 Bracket. The Lakewood Ranch, Fla., native beat Williams 6-1, 6-2 before registering a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Dreycopp. Connor Krug also tallied a win in the A2 draw when he defeated Virginia’s Mans Dahlberg 6-4, 6-4. Additionally, Visser secured another singles win after he beat North Carolina’s Peter Murphy 7-5, 5-7, 6-2.
Seniors Andrew Dale and Faris Khan had to bow out from the tournament due to injuries on Saturday.
The Blue Devils are back in action on Sunday for 9 a.m. matches.
