Florida Women’s Tennis is set to host the ITA Regional Championships over the next five days. The tournament consists of 18 different teams.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida tennis team will host the 2023 ITA Regional Championships over the next five days (10/19-10/23). The tournament will take place at the Gators home courts, Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
The ITA Regional Championships will kick-off at 9 a.m. this Thursday (10/19) with two rounds of qualifying singles. For Florida, Bente Spee and Sophie Williams are competing in the qualifying bracket to earn a spot in the Regionals main draw.
Two rounds of qualifying doubles will also take place Thursday (10/19), directly following the qualifying singles matches. Florida will not have any doubles pairs playing Thursday (10/19), as Gailis/Briggs, Lopez/Rowinska, Dahlstrom/Spee, have already qualified for the doubles main draw which will start on Friday (10/20).
Florida’s singles players who have made the main draw and will begin competition on Friday (10/20) are: Rachel Gailis, Carly Briggs, Emily De Oliveira, Sara Dahlstrom, Qavia Lopez, and Malwina Rowinska.
Matches will begin at 9 a.m. every morning of the tournament with Monday (10/23) being the last day of play. Several courts will be available to watch on PlaySight and tournament updates along with live scoring and schedules can be found on the official ITA website.
