EUGENE, Ore. – Washington State University posted a six more combined singles and doubles wins out of nine matches during the first day of play at the 2023 Duck Invitational Friday at the Oregon Student Tennis Center.
Senior Fifa Kumhom, redshirt junior Hania Abouelsaad and junior Stefaniia Mikhailova each posted singles and doubles wins Saturday to highlight the afternoon.
In the tournament’s hidden dual format, where singles and doubles are played against different teams, the Cougars opened the day taking all three doubles matches against Portland.
In singles play against Oregon, the Cougars captured two of four matches then posted a win and a loss against Portland and Portland State, respectively.
The Duck Invitational concludes Sunday with WSU facing Portland State in singles. Play begins at 9 a.m.
