TULSA, Okla. – California men’s tennis junior Carl Emil Overbeck fell to Indiana’s Sam Landau in the first round of the singles main draw Wednesday at the ITA All-American Championships.
Playing at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at the University of Tulsa, the Copenhagen, Denmark, native won the first set, 6-2, but wound up losing, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Moving into the consolation draw, Overbeck next plays Utah’s 21st-ranked Geronimo Espin Busleiman in qualifying for the round of 32 on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. CT/9:30 a.m. PT.
