Aggies Earn No. 2 Seed Entering NCAA Tournament - Texas A&M Athletics


INDIANAPOLIS – The Texas A&M women’s tennis team secured the No. 2 seed entering the NCAA Tournament, which ensured the Aggies’ opportunity to host matches in the opening two rounds of the tournament, the organization announced Monday evening.
 

No. 2 A&M will host Quinnipiac, Baylor and SMU. The Bears & Mustangs will open the 1st round Friday, May 5, with first serve set for 10 a.m., and they will be followed by the Maroon & White and the Bobcats at 1 p.m. The winners of the opening round matches will play to decide who advances to the round of 16, Saturday, May 6, with a start time of 1 p.m.
 

The Aggies are coming off back-to-back SEC regular season championships, and the programs third-straight trip to the Conference Tournament finals. A&M earned the highest ranked NCAA Tournament seed in the conference, with a total of nine members of the conference earning bids, and four earning official seeds and therefore hosting.
