The No. 50 ranked Nebraska men’s tennis team (13-9, 5-4 Big Ten) travels to Bloomington Ind., to take on No. 24 Illinois in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament at 10 a.m. CT on Friday morning.

Nebraska Earns No. 5 Seed
For the second straight season, the Big Red enters the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 5 seed following a historic season. The Huskers’ five Big Ten wins ties the most in program history, a feat also set in 2022. William Gleason, Lars Johann and Shunya Maruyama have been leading the charge in singles this spring, with all having won eight matches. The Huskers finished the spring season with a 53-49 record in singles and a 12-9 doubles record in conference play.
Scouting Illinois (18-10, 6-3 Big Ten)
The Fighting Illini grabbed the No. 4 seed in the tournament. The Illini are one of four Big Ten teams ranked inside the ITA top 30 rankings, along with Ohio State (3), Michigan (7) and Northwestern (26). Illinois knocked off Nebraska 4-2 earlier in the season.
