Tennis Terps Go 1-1 On The Weekend After A Loss to Iowa, 4-3


IOWA CITY, IA – The No. 62 University of Maryland women’s tennis team (15-7, 4-5 B1G) was defeated by No. 58 Iowa (11-8, 6-3 B1G) 4-3 on Sunday morning at the Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Center.

The Terps picked up the opening point of the match after taking doubles play with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. 

The Terps scored 2 points in No. 4 and No. 6 singles. Kallista Liu won her match against Vipasha Mehra in the third set and Francesca Feodorov won in straight sets. With these points the Terps led 3-1. Iowa tied the match 3-3 after Maryland was unable to win at No. 1, No. 5, and No. 3 in the singles

Minorka Miranda forced a third set in No. 2 singles in the match deciding point but was unable to walk away with a win (4-6, 7-5, 6-4)

Looking Ahead

The Tennis Terps will host Penn State and Ohio State next Saturday and Sunday, April 22 – April 23 for the last regular season matches of the season.
