Molinaro has been incredibly active in the community since the beginning of her junior season on Rocky Top. She has amassed close to 60 hours of service, ranging from work at the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital to Lonsdale Elementary. Furthermore, the native of Luxembourg has spent time working with the Young Williams Animal Shelter, the Breast Cancer Awareness Clinic, Tennessee’s Dean of Students office and various Little Smokey’s Clinics throughout the season.
“Community service is an integral part of our program,” head coach Alison Ojeda said. “I am so proud of Ele and the way she has made time for our community. Her weekly commitment to the Children’s Hospital has really made an impact on those kids’ lives. What I love most is that she has created a win-win situation. She really is thriving in her personal life because she feels so good about serving others.”
On top of her time working with numerous local organizations and bettering the community, she was also a part of the 2022 VOLeadership Academy trip to Rwanda last summer. While in Rwanda, Molinaro help engage with the area and locals partly through community service projects. Another major part of the trip involves connecting with the people and using sport as a channel of communication and interconnectedness that unites people from across the globe.
