CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois women’s tennis will only play one match on the road this weekend as Minnesota has forfeited Sunday’s match.
Minnesota, which is down to three healthy student-athletes, will not compete in its final five regular-season matches nor the Big Ten Tournament, the program announced Wednesday.
The forfeit results in a 7-0 win for Illinois and puts the Illini’s record at 16-6 overall and 7-1 in the Big Ten. Illinois will play at No. 21 Wisconsin on Friday at 4 p.m. CT.
