Uslu produced a perfect weekend in singles headlined by a win over No. 7 Carol Lee of Georgia Tech this past Sunday, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. The victory marked her third over a nationally-ranked opponent and the highest-ranked win of any Hokie this season. Prior to this, she notched another three-set win on Friday over Clemson’s Eleni Louka, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.
The ITA released their weekly rankings today placing Uslu as the No. 67 singles player in the country, her highest ranking this season. Uslu entered the ITA poll for the first time on March 7, claiming the No. 112 spot.
The Gebze, Turkey native has put together a stellar freshman campaign starting the season with a 7-2 record on court two before anchoring court one and registering a 7-3 mark.
Tech returns to the court this Thursday, April 6, to face the Virginia Cavaliers in Charlottesville, Va., at 4 p.m.
