#10 Wolfpack Travels to Wake Forest to Start ACC Play


RALEIGH – Tenth-ranked NC State women’s tennis (5-1) is hitting the road to Wake Forest (5-3) to open up the ACC schedule for the season. The first serve is set for 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 at the Wake Forest Tennis Center in Winston-Salem.

Last Time Out:

This past Sunday, the team completed their three consecutive top-25 matchup run when they took down No. 20 California in Coral Gables, Fla. The neutral site match ended with a 4-0 shutout for the Wolfpack as they handled business efficiently. 

 

Rankings Update: 

After two weeks, the team has remained nationally ranked at No. 10 as of Feb. 15.

The ITA released updated rankings for doubles and singles on Feb. 8 which continued to feature numerous squad members. Miller and Rajecki moved up to No. 5 in doubles after previously being at No. 8. In singles, four individual players found themselves in the rankings yet again with two of them being inside the top 25. Alana Smith (No. 15), Amelia Rajecki (No. 19), Abigail Rencheli (No. 35), and Sophie Abrams (No. 64) continue to showcase the valuable experience that they bring to the program. 

Coming Up Next: 

Following this weekend’s action, the Wolfpack is heading to Columbus to face the No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m.
