Illini Set to Visit Missouri, Host Illinois State on Split Weekend


CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini Women’s Tennis (2-3) is set for another two-match weekend as Illinois first visits Missouri (3-1) on Friday, February 10, at 3 p.m. CT. On Sunday, the Illini will host Illinois State (3-0) at 12 p.m. CT.  

Friday’s match against the Tigers will be considered an away match as Mizzou is currently playing home matches at Vetta Sunset in St. Louis, Mo. Livestats for the match will be available HERE.

Sunday’s tilt back in Atkins Tennis Center will feature a stream and livestats.

Last Time Out

Last weekend the Illini came up short in setbacks to Georgia Tech and Notre Dame – a pair of ACC squads both receiving votes in the latest rankings.

Illini vs. The Field

Illinois is 3-0 vs. Missouri all-time, owning a 4-0 sweep in last season’s Braggin’ Rights meeting on Feb. 13, 2022.

The Illini are 31-8 all-time against Illinois State. The last time the two sides met resulted in a 7-0 Illinois victory on Feb. 6, 2022.

Illini Notes

Head coach Evan Clark is in his eighth year as the head coach of Illinois women’s tennis and holds an overall dual record of 99-70 (.586) and is 50-25 (.667) in Big Ten play during his time as an Illini.

The Illini are coming off a 16-9 season with an 8-3 Big Ten record in 2021-22.

Illinois returns seven of its eight players from last season, including seniors Emily Casati, Josie Frazier, and Ashley Yeah; junior Kate Duong; and sophomores Kida Ferrari, Megan Heuser, and Kasia Treiber. The Illini also welcomed new freshman Violeta Martinez to the squad.
