Duke Seeded No. 4; Will Face Oklahoma Friday at National Team Indoors

2023 ITA Indoors Bracket

DURHAM – The draw for the 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championship was released on Tuesday afternoon with the opening round of play set for Friday, Feb. 10 at the Nordstrom Tennis Center and Seattle Tennis Club in Seattle, Wash.

The Blue Devils were seeded No. 4 overall and will face 15th-ranked Oklahoma in the first round on Friday at 3 p.m. (ET) at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.

Duke (8-0) and Oklahoma (5-3) will face off for the third time over the last two seasons.  The Blue Devils hosted the Sooners during the 2022 ITA Kickoff Weekend and were upset, 4-2, in Durham to keep Duke out of the National Team Indoors.  The two teams met once again in the 2022 NCAA Tournament as Oklahoma defeated Duke, 4-3, in the NCAA semifinals to conclude the Blue Devils’ run.

Hosted by the University of Washington, the 2023 field includes 14 of the Top 15 teams in the Feb. 1 ITA Collegiate Tennis Team Rankings.  Texas is the top seed, while North Carolina, Texas A&M, Duke, Stanford, Ohio State, Virginia and Vanderbilt were the top eight seeds.

Duke will appear in the ITA Indoors for the 30th time in school history.  The Blue Devils claimed the title in both 2003 and 2014 under head coach Jamie Ashworth.

As a single-elimination tournament, teams will play one match each day with the Championship Match being played on Monday, Feb. 13, at 3 p.m. (ET). However, all teams are guaranteed to play at least three matches over the weekend through either the main or consolation draw.

A PlaySight and TrackTennis live stream, as well as Tennis-Ticker live scoring, will be available for every match at the 2023 Division I Women’s Indoor Championship. Cracked Racquets will provide on-site commentary during the event, which will be broadcasted on the Cracked Racquets YouTube channel.
