Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina Men’s Tennis has been picked to finish fourth in the the SEC by the leagues coaches, the conference announced Wednesday. The coaches’ preseason poll has the Gamecocks finishing behind Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
South Carolina was picked to finish fourth during the 2022 dual season but ultimately ended the year tied for second in the regular season with a 10-2 record in SEC play.
Returning for South Carolina in 2023 are first team all-SEC selection Toby Samuel and second team all-SEC selection Connor Thomson. The Gamecocks are set to begin their 2022 dual season on Jan. 20 and will see SEC competition starting March 2.
The preseason poll is voted on by the men’s tennis head coach at each institution and is based on a 13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 vote.
