Dancer Announces 2023 Schedule - University of Illinois Athletics


CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois men’s tennis head coach Brad Dancer has announced the full schedule for the 2023 spring season on Friday. 

The Illini will begin the season on the campus of Arizona State where they will participate in the Sun Devil Hidden Dual from Jan. 12-13, then play Wichita State and Bryant on Jan. 14. 

Illinois will continue its road stretch with a trip to Lexington to take on Kentucky on Jan. 21 before going to Columbus to face Big Ten foe, Ohio State on Jan. 22. 

Dancer and the team will welcome Butler and Illinois State for their home opener on Jan. 28, and Drake on Jan. 29. 

After a few days off, the Orange and Blue will travel to North Carolina for a matchup with Duke on Feb. 3 then head to Chapel Hill to play North Carolina on Feb. 4. 

Illinois will have one more home stand against UCF on Feb. 10 and Notre Dame on Feb. 11 before traveling to Chicago to play Georgia on Feb. 15 before hosting the ITA Indoor Championships from Feb. 17-20. 

The Illini are set to go to Baylor’s campus to face University of Texas Arlington and the Bears on Feb. 17, before playing TCU on Feb. 19. 

The Orange and Blue will have Big Ten action beginning with Penn State at home on Feb. 24, and Ohio State on Feb. 26. 

Illinois will then go on a three match road trip – first to Purdue on March 31, then to Indiana on April 2 and finally to Northwestern on April 8. 

The Illini will come back to Champaign-Urbana for a weekend, hosting Wisconsin on April 14 and Nebraska on April 16 before playing Michigan State on April 21 and Michigan on April 23 to close out the regular season. 

The Big Ten Championship tournament is set for April 27 on Indiana’s campus, with the NCAA First and Second rounds on May 5.
