SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Mary Brumfield and Selma Cadar lost to Elaine Chervinsky and Natasha Subhash from Virginia in the 2022 National Fall Championship doubles quarterfinals. The Terps competed at a high level defeating doubles pairs from both Tulane and UCLA.
“We’re very proud of the performance Selma and Mary gave this week,” said assistant coach Ruth Seaborne. “The level of tennis they are playing is extremely high and proves they are amongst the best in the country. Tough day today against UVA, who played some very good tennis to beat us. We definitely created a lot of opportunities in both sets and didn’t quite find the execution we needed to close out a couple games that we were leading in as well as a handful of Deuce points. Very happy with Selma and Mary and looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for them.”
