Beck/Morra Continue to Advance at ITA Nationals


SAN DIEGO, Calif. – On Thursday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Fall Championship, the Duke women’s tennis doubles duo of Chloe Beck and Cameron Morra registered another victory to move on to the quarterfinals at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.

Beck/Morra registered a 6-1, 6-0 win over Fatima Bizhukova and Natalie Espinal of Nova Southeastern to improve to 13-2 on the fall.  Duke’s tandem will next face top-seeded Savannah Broadus and Janice Tjen of Pepperdine.  

In singles action, Beck rebounded from a loss in the opening round to defeat 35th-ranked Julia Adams of Virginia, 6-2, 6-2.  A product of Watkinsville, Ga., Beck will next take on LSU’s Anastasiya Komar in the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket.

Duke will also open action Friday in the NC State Invitational, which will be held in Raleigh, N.C., Nov. 4-6.
