CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson women’s tennis team has announced the addition of Leigh Van Zyl for the 2023 spring season. She hails from South Africa and will look to make an immediate contribution to Head Coach Christy Lynch’s program.

“We are looking forward to having Leigh join the program this January,” stated Lynch. “In my first initial conversations with Leah, it was evident that she has a real love for the game. She is a high character person, a great student, and has a strong drive to excel both on and off the court which make her a great fit for our program!”

Leigh comes to Clemson as the top ranked U18 junior player in South Africa reaching a career high ITF World junior ranking of #125. Leigh has captured five ITF Junior singles titles over the past two years and reached the final of the African Junior Championships in Tunisia this past spring. Leigh has also won eight ITF Junior doubles titles over the past two years. This past year, Leigh also represented South Africa in Fed Cup competition.
