Six members of the team will represent the Gators at the ITA Regional as Nate Bonetto, Jonah Braswell, Will Grant, Lukas Greif, Tanapatt Nirundorn and Togan Tokac are set to compete this weekend. All Gators will be competing in the main draw of both the doubles and singles of the tournament starting Friday. The three doubles pairings of Bonetto/Grant, Braswell/Greif and Nirundorn/Tokac each earned a first-round bye.
The Gators look to carry their momentum from the ITA All-American Championships where Florida led all schools with 29 total wins at the tournament.
A trio of freshmen made their collegiate debuts in Tulsa and left the tournament with a tremendous number of high-quality matches under their belt. Braswell picked up eight singles victories – two against ranked-opponents – to lead the Gators. Nirundorn/Tokac made history in the doubles draw by reaching the semifinals from qualifying, as the duo became the first freshmen to accomplish the feat in ITA All-American Championships history, and tallied five ranked-wins on their run.
Tokac also earned three singles wins in prequalifying, while Nirundorn seeks his first career singles win.
Grant is tied with Braswell for a team-high eight singles wins and has two doubles wins on the season. Bonetto and Greif each have four singles wins and three doubles wins this fall.
A live stream will be available for the matches on the south side of the tennis facility and can be found here. Live scoring will not be available.
