TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women’s tennis team will compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southern Regional Championships beginning Thursday at 9 a.m. CT at the LSU Tennis Complex and LSU UREC Tennis Courts. The five-day competition will conclude Tuesday, Oct. 18.

The ITA Southern Regional Championship
- Alabama will face players from 18 teams at the ITA Southern Regional, including Alcorn State, Auburn, Jacksonville State, Louisiana Lafayette, Louisiana Monroe, Louisiana Tech, LSU, McNeese State, Mississippi State, Northwestern State, Ole Miss, Samford, New Orleans, South Alabama, Southern Miss, UAB, Troy and Tulane
- The tournament will feature 128 athletes in the singles qualifying draw while 43 doubles teams will compete in the doubles competition
- Ansley Cheshire, Sydney Orefice and Rebeka Kern begin competition Thursday in the singles qualifying round
- In Friday’s main draw, Ola Pitak will play LSU’s Maggie Cubitt, Loudmilla Bencheikh will play Tulane’s Jiayu Zhu, Anna Parkhomenko will play New Orleans’s Diane Bredberg Canizares, Kasia Pitak will play New Orleans’s Tristanne Dechoux, Kiara Millcevic will play South Alabama’s Elysia Pool and Petra Sedlackova will play McNeese State’s Emma Lou Pommiers
- Rebeka Kern and Sydney Orefice will compete against Valentina Vasquez and Olga Bienzobas from Louisiana Tech in doubles action

- Kasia Pitak led The Tide with a pair of singles and doubles win
