‘Cats Dispatch Spartans, 4-0 – Northwestern University Athletics

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern rebounded with a 4-0 win at Michigan State on Saturday afternoon on the road. 

The Wildcats improved to 13-7 overall and 8-2 in the Big Ten. The Spartans fell to 9-12 and 1-9 in conference. 

The ‘Cats started quick with a 6-1 win from Briana Crowley and Christina Hand at No. 2 and a 6-2 win from Hannah McColgan and Sydney Pratt at No. 3 in doubles. 

The team clinched the match in short order with three quick singles wins. Ema Lazic won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 before Maria Shusharina won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1. Justine Leong clinched the win with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5.

The ‘Cats are back in action on Sundaya when they visit Michigan at 11 a.m. CT.
