MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin men’s tennis has announced the signing of Ferdi Kloesters, a German prospect that will join the Badgers in January. Kloesters has assembled a decorated youth career and will arrive in Madison as a freshman to start the 2025 season.
“Urban and I are thrilled to add Ferdi to our team this January,” said head coach Danny Westerman. “He is a very motivated young man that cares a great deal about both his tennis and academics. Ferdi should make an immediate impact on our young team and we cannot wait to get the entire group back together after the holidays.”
During his youth career, Kloesters was ranked as high as No. 10 in Germany and No. 2 in Bavaria. He now holds a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of 12.30 and a World Tennis Rating (WTN) of 8.8. Kloesters ranks No. 111 in the German men’s singles rankings.
