IOWA CITY, Iowa – Eline Bex has signed a scholarship agreement with the University of Iowa women’s tennis program, it was announced Thursday by head coach Sasha Boros-Schmid.
“We are excited to welcome Eline to our program next fall,” said Boros-Schmid. “Eline was an immediate fit with our team and program and we are excited for her to make an impact as a freshman.
“We are looking forward to having her on campus and a part of the Hawkeye family for the next four years and to watch her succeed.”
The Zonhoven, Belgium, native won three titles and was runner-up four times in 2024, playing in women’s division one tournaments. She was the Belgium Championships runner-up.
In 2023, Bex won five doubles titles and finished second in five tournaments. She achieved a career-high ITF junior ranking of 577 in 2023.
Bex was also a Belgium U12 and U15 champion.
“Studying and playing tennis in America excites me because it blends sports and education perfectly,” she said. “The University of Iowa feels like the ideal place to improve my skills, meet new people and grow on and off the court.
“Life is short, the world is wide. I want to make some unforgettable memories. I am excited to be a Hawkeye!”
