CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference will be well represented at the 2024-25 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships, as the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Subcommittee has selected the 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams for the individual championships.
This is the first year of a two-year plan for the singles and doubles championships to be conducted in the fall, with the team championships continuing to be held in the spring.
The singles and doubles competition will be held November 19-24 at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas. Baylor University will serve as the host.
The ACC had 20 individuals selected for the 64-team singles field, including one alternate.
California, Duke, North Carolina, Stanford and Virginia each had three players chosen for singles play. Stanford’s Valerie Glozman (No. 5 seed) and Connie Ma (No. 7 seed) both earned a top-10 seed for the championship. Duke also had one alternate selection.
In doubles, 10 teams were selected, including an alternate, headlined by the No. 2-seeded duo of Gabriella Broadfoot and Maddy Zampardo of NC State.
Virginia had three doubles teams selected, including an alternate, while North Carolina had two pairs chosen for the 32-team field.
Singles and doubles participants qualified for the NCAA Division I singles and doubles championships via competition in approved qualifying pathway events – ITA All-American Championships, ITA Regional Championships, ITA Conference Masters Championships and ITA Sectional Championships.
